Marianne Williamson once said, “Something very beautiful happens to people when their world has fallen apart: a humility, a nobility, a higher intelligence emerges at just the point when our knees hit the floor.” Isn’t that where the world is now?

With our society and culture in shambles, it’s up to us—individuals, families, communities, and even brands (or rather, especially brands)—to lay down our guards; listen with open hearts, open minds, and do the right thing. We have to do better.

Hi, I’m Kelly. I’m the founder of Left-brained Creative (LBC), and in many ways, I am the brand. I’m also a bit of an oxymoron. I’m not your typical pie-in-the-sky creative* who only wants to work on the most dazzling projects money can buy. Nah. My goal is to create brands that work.

*Apologies to the “typical” creatives—my intent is not to offend, merely to illustrate. The world needs your pie-in-the-sky ideas!

What I mean by “creating brands that work” is that (a) the intended message resonates with the intended audience, (b) the design deliverables are functional and completed on time and on budget, and (c) the communication aligns with the brand’s mission and objectives. Hence, the left-brained-ness. Left-brained thinkers are logical problem-solvers who base decisions on facts.

Rates + Pricing

We handle rates and pricing a little differently here at LBC. We understand that brands can’t be successful if no one knows who you are, or how to find your products or services. Therefore, we never want our rates to be a barrier to your success. We work within your budget so that you never receive an invoice that gives you a little panic attack in the pit of your stomach.

You choose your hourly rate, you set your budget, and we provide transparency so that you always know (a) what we’re working on, and (b) how many billable hours we’ve spent on your work in real time.

Partnering with LBC is like getting your own in-house marketing communications team. When you team up with LBC, you gain access to experts with decades of experience—both academically and within the industry. Speaking for myself (Kelly), my credentials include:

  • A bachelor of science in visual communication design from Stevenson University
  • A master of science in management with a specialization in marketing from the University of Maryland Global Campus
  • More than 13 years of design and branding experience in the small business, big corporate, and nonprofit spaces
